Christian Bautista confirms talks with TV5

Following rumors of an impending transfer to another television network, singer Christian Bautista confirmed that TV5 has offered him an opportunity to host an upcoming reality singing contest.

But he was quick to add that nothing has been finalized.

“Wala pa namang final. Nagkaroon lang ng pag-uusap, ng negotiation. I’m still under contract with ABS-CBN until August. After August, tignan po natin,” Bautista said during the press launch of his coffee table book, “First Class.”

“Life goes on, work goes on, but we’ll see if there are opportunities when the contract ends [sa ABS-CBN, TV5 o GMA].”

Bautista said his girlfriend, “The Kitchen Musical” co-star Carla Dunareanu, is also open to working in a new environment.

Dunareanu is currently based in Singapore.

“Carla’s staying here until June, looking for work in any channel. Kung merong work kami na makita for her, then why not? Gusto niya i-try dito sa Philippines,” he said.

“The Kitchen Musical,” a pan-Asian musical series, recently won a Gold World Medal for Best Writing and a Bronze World Medal for Best Performance at the 2012 New York Festival.

“I feel relieved, masaya, kasi na-reward-an kami, ‘yung mga ginawa namin,” Bautista said about their achievement.

Christian Bautista denies being deported from Jakarta

Multi-platinum-selling singer and actor Christian Bautista is set to return to the country this weekend amid reports that he was deported from Jakarta, Indonesia for allegedly violating the terms of his visa.

A report from the Jakarta Globe said Bautista was being deported for violating Indonesian immigration laws for singing in a show in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang without a proper work visa.

It quoted Indonesian immigration official Herawan Sukoaji as saying that Bautista had traveled to Indonesia numerous times on a work visa "but this time, the sponsor did not fully understand the immigration regulations, so Christian used the free visa."

Bautista's manager, however, denied that the Pinoy singer had been deported.

"Christian is not deported. Whatever the problems in the immigration was legally settled. He is on his way home from Singapore tomorrow and will be back in Jakarta for his Valentine's concert in Hotel Mulia," manager Carlo Orosa said.

He said Bautista will be flying to Singapore tonight before returning to Manila on Saturday.

Christian Bautista now a Diamond Recording artist

Christian Bautista got an early Christmas present, as he was given the Diamond Recording artist trophy on Friday (December 2).

Bautista received the Diamond Recording artist trophy for his best-selling album "A Wonderful Christmas," which was released last year.

"Salamat po, this is my first Diamond Award. I'm very happy.... I would like to thank, of course Mr. Jose Mari Chan because this album inspires me to write Christmas song and to have a duet with his daughter. To God, because somehow I can't believe this is really happening to me. Thank you, Lord for everything. I'm very thankful for this achievement," he said.

"This is an early Christmas gift. Ito ay napakagandang regalo sa akin, I just can't explain ang saya saya ko ngayon," Bautista added.

Currently, Bautista is part of Asian TV series "The Kitchen Musical."
