Nahihirapan daw mag-isip ang Kapuso Tween star na si Julie Anne San Jose sa kung ano ang ireregalo sa 18th birthday ng kanyang ka-love team na si Elmo Magalona.

Sa gitna ng kulitan ng dalawa, pabirong sinabi ni Elmo sa ulat ni Audrey Carampel sa Balitanghali nitong Miyerkules, na kotse ang gusto niyang matanggap na regalo dahil nasa tamang edad na siya.

Dahil dito, pabiro din ang naging sagot ni Julie Anne sa aktor na dapat regaluhan din siya ni Elmo ng bahay sa kanyang kaarawan.

Labis ang pasasalamat ng binatang anak ng namayapang si Francis Magalona dahil sa sunod-sunod na biyaya na kanyang natatanggap.

At ngayon na nasa legal age na siya, sinabi ni Elmo na mas focus na siya sa kanyang trabaho at halos wala na raw siyang mahihiling pa.

Bagamat busy sa kanyang taping para sa pelikulang Just One Summer kasama si Julie Anne, isang simpleng family dinner ang ginanap para sa selebrasyon ng kanyang kaarawan kamakailan.

Richard Gutierrez sa kanyang love life: 'I am dating'

“Yes I am dating.” Ito ang pahayag ni Richard Gutierrez nang kinamusta ang kanyang love life sa Chika Minute ng 24 Oras sa ulat ni Lhar Santiago nitong Lunes.

Dagdag pa ng aktor, “Of course and kailangan natin iyan. Siyempre. Pero, right now talaga, I just wanna stay private and at the same time I’m really busy with my work.”

Ayon pa rin sa ulat ni Santiago, noong nakaraang Abril 27, 2012, Biyernes, pinalakpakan si Richard sa naging matagumpay na perfume launch na Bench Deo Cologne line na ginanap sa Atrium ng SM Mall of Asia (MOA).

Dumalo rin ang pamilya ni Richard sa event kabilang na ang kanyang inang si Annabelle Rama, amang si Eddie Gutierrez, ang kapatid niyang si Ruffa, kasama ang mga anak nito na sina Lorin at Venice.

Dumalo rin ang kanyang kambal na si Raymond at ang kanyang kapatid sa si Elvis.

Ayon pa sa aktor: “Siyempre, I’m thankful and sobrang natuwa ako na nandiyan sila, na sumoporta sila sa akin. Hindi talaga sila nagkulang sa akin sa lahat ng events na ginawa para sa akin.”

Busy naman ngayon ang aktor dahil sa dalawang bagong palabas niya sa GMA.

Nagsimula nang mag-taping ang aktor para sa telseryeng Makapiling Kang Muli na pagbibidahan niya kasama sina Carla Abellana at Sarah Lahbati.

Ginagawa rin niya ang Pinoy Adventures para sa GMA News and Public affairs.

Masaya namang ikinuwento ni Richard ang tungkol sa Pinoy Adventures at ito ang naging pahayag niya:

“It’s the first of its kind. It’s really an exciting show kasi pupuntahan naming ang iba’t-ibang lugar sa Pilipinas na hindi pa napupuntahan ng maraming tao.

Marian Rivera at Dingdong Dantes, nagsalita tungkol sa intrigang buntis ang aktres

Nagbigay ng pahayag ang magkasintahang Marian Rivera at Dingdong Dantes tungkol sa napabalitang nagdadalang-tao umano ang Kapuso primetime queen.

Nitong Huwebes ng umaga ay mag-isang lumipad patungong Malaysia si Dingdong para i-promote ang dating soap nila ni Marian na Endless Love na ipinapalabas doon ngayon.

Hindi nakasama si Marian sa Malaysia dahil sa nakatakdang press launch ng kanyang sitcom na Tweets For My Sweet. Dito ay makakasama niya sina Barbie Forteza, Elmo Magalona, Nova Villa, Roderick Paulete, Sheena Halili at Chef Boy Logro.

Wala umanong kinalaman ang tsismis na buntis siya kaya hindi siya nakasama ni Dingdong sa Malaysia. Ipinakita pa nga ng aktres ang magandang hubog ng kanyang katawan para patunayan na hindi siya buntis.

“Hindi totoo, ano ba… sa’n nanggaling yun? (tsismis)," natatawang tanong ni Marian.

“Sabi ko, siya na (Dingdong) bahala sa akin sa mga taga-Malaysia. Siya na magsabi kung bakit wala ako dun ngayon," dagdag ng aktres.

Nagsimula ang tsismis na buntis si Marian nang mayroon umanong mag-congratulate kay Dingdong, sabay tanong kung ilang buwan na.

Pero sabi ng Kapuso leading man: “Siguro may ilang tao na nagkakaroon ng ibang interpretasyon na nanggaling sa hangin. Pero sa amin ang importante focus kami sa trabaho namin."

Bagaman naghihinayang na hindi niya kasama ang nobya sa Malaysia, sinabi ni Dingdong na i-enjoy na lamang niya ang biyahe kasama ang kanilang mga tagahanga doon.

Kapuso na ang nagbabalik showbiz na si Roxanne Guinoo na ilang taong nawala sa sirkulasyon matapos mabuntis at magpakasal sa kanyang non-showbiz boyfriend.

Sa story conference ng bagong family-drama serye sa GMA 7, pormal na ipinakilala si Roxanne sa kanyang mga makakasama sa Daddy Dearest, na kinabibilangan ni Ogie Alcasid.

Sa panayam ni showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas, sinabi ni Roxanne na excited siya sa kanyang bagong tahanan at mga bagong makakatrabaho.

“Masayang masaya, ibang grupo, ibang klaseng work. I think light comedy po yata ‘to (Daddy Dearest). Dito sa GMA first time kong makakatrabaho ang yung mga Kapuso stars po, so exciting," pahayag ng magandang aktres sa Chika Minute ng GMA new 24 Oras nitong Miyerkules.

Taong 2010 nang mapabalitang nagdadalang-tao si Roxanne. Sa sumunod na taon naman ay ikinasal na sila ng kanyang Filipino-Chinese boyfriend.

Nagpapasalamat si Roxanne sa kanyang mister dahil very supportive ito sa kanyang career. At ngayong malaki na ang kanilang baby, nagdesisyon na siyang magbalik sa showbiz.

Pero paliwanag ng aktres, magiging mapili siya sa proyekto dahil nais niyang ikatutuwa ito ng kanyang baby at family.

Sinabi ni Roxanne na magkakaroon din siya ng kaunting limitasyon sa mga proyekto. Hindi na umano aakma sa kanya ang sobrang pagpapasexy o daring role.

Mixed reviews for Sanchez; may be in trouble

Filipino-Mexican-American contestant Jessica Sanchez had a mixed night on "American Idol" on Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Manila), and the show's keen followers believe the singer may be in a precarious position.

"Jessica could be in trouble this week," MJ's Big Blog said on Entertainment Weekly's live blog.

For this week, the contestants were asked to perform two songs -- one from the 1960s and a British song.

For the first round, Sanchez took on, what judge Randy Jackson called, “the biggest dragon of the night” as she sang Ike and Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.”

Although Jackson said the 16-year-old pulled it off, he called Sanchez’s performance “barely okay.”

"You took on probably the biggest dragon of the night... It didn't really quite sit with me," he said.

Judge Jennifer Lopez disagreed, saying Sanchez looked so grown-up when she got on stage tonight that she forgot she is only 16 years old.

Lopez also said she just saw Sanchez’s true style by showing “a little bit of Tina, a little bit of Beyonce” in the performance.

As for judge Steven Tyler, he said Sanchez did her magic again by building the song up when she started it slow and stepped it up by stretching out her vocals making her over all performance sound great.

"The only thing that gives experience a run for its money is a 16-year-old. I'm hearing the blues come out of you," said Tyler.

While Jackson did not give Sanchez high praises during the first round, Jackson said the Filipino-Mexican singer definitely made a comeback in round two with her performance of Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful."

"This girl's in the top of the leaderboard right now," Jackson said.

"You, once again, showed America just how beautiful your voice is. You're going to be No. 1, girl," Tyler added.

Lopez noted how Sanchez captivated the audience once again just like when she sang “I Will Always Love You.”

"How could we have let this girl go home?" said Lopez, as if reminding the audience to continue their support for Sanchez, who had to be saved by the judges from elimination.

Weak song choices

While "Idol" followers praised Sanchez's vocal abilities, they disagreed with her song choices -- especially since she selected two old songs.

"Her vocals, as always, are terrific. ...I would have picked a current song. She’s young and should be doing young songs," said blogger Rickey of rickey.org.

During the British round, only Hollie Cavanagh chose a more current song -- "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis -- and was praised by the judges, noting that Cavanagh seemed to be peaking at the right time.

Last week, Cavanagh received her first standing ovation for her version of Miley Cyrus's "The Climb."

Once again, the judges gave the only standing ovation on Wednesday to favorite contestant Joshua Ledet for his version of "To Love Somebody" by the Bee Gees.

As of posting, Dial Idol placed Sanchez at No. 4, with Skylar Laine at No. 1.

Skylar, not Jessica, is mag’s new pick to win ‘Idol’

Is Jessica Sanchez losing momentum?

Going into Wednesday’s performance night (Thursday morning in Manila) of the TV talent search “American Idol,” the popular magazine Entertainment Weekly again ranked the Filipino-Mexican-American contestant at No. 4 on its Power List.

Sanchez was also at No. 4 last week – her lowest since the magazine began ranking this season's contestants of the hit US TV show.

“This should be a strong week for Jessica performance-wise (heck, they all are) but she’s become a polarizing contestant,” the magazine said.

“Some think she’s perfect; others think she’s a robot; many suspect she’s both. I almost think she’ll be better off if the judges give her a hard time tonight,” it added.

With last week’s elimination of Elise Testone, several “Idol” bloggers, including MJ’s Big Blog and Rickey.org, have shifted their bets to country singer Skylar Laine.

Even Entertainment Weekly have joined the bandwagon, putting Laine on top of its “Idol” rankings.

“I just have a weird feeling that unless she picks strict country songs that might alienate crossover fans, Skylar is poised to win this thing,” the magazine said, adding that teenage girls, which make up a significant voting bloc, find her the “most exciting.”

“She’s not a living doll, she has so much unbridled fun on stage, and she can wail when necessary,” it added, an obvious reference to Sanchez.

The magazine is now predicting the finale to be between Laine and rocker Phillip Phillips.

“He’s a white guy with a guitar who just wants to jam with you. Millions of voters are dying to let him,” the magazine said.

Once again, Entertainment Weekly placed Hollie Cavanagh at the bottom of its list.

“She’s been in the bottom two recently, even after two solid weeks of more confident, emotional performances. I can see it in the script: The judges will put a (sparkly) pin in their brief love affair with Hollie in the interest of advancing the others,” the magazine said.

Friends Pooh, Ethel Booba defend Vice Ganda

Comedians Pooh and Ethel Booba defended their long-time friend, actor-host Vice Ganda, against criticism that the "It's Showtime" host has become swell-headed.

In an interview with Kris Aquino on the morning show "KrisTV," Pooh said Vice Ganda actually became "nicer" when he became popular.

"Actually noong mas sumikat si Viceral (Vice Ganda) mas bumait siya. Noong sa sing-a-long, maldives (maldita) 'yan eh. Seryoso siya sa trabaho, pukpok. Tapos ngayon mas reachable pa nga siya, mas siya pa ang lumalapit ngayon. Ibang Viceral ang nakikita ngayon," Ganda said.

Booba even became emotional when she recalled how Vice Ganda helped her when the rest of the world turned their back on her.

"Actually 'yung mga dati kong naging friends -- huwag kayong mao-offend -- kasi kini-kwestiyon nila 'yung friendship namin ni Vice. Kasi noong walang-wala ako, noong down na down ako, siya 'yung nagbigay ng hand niya. 'Yun ang tunay na kaibigan," Booba said.

Vice Ganda stressed that he not changed and that people just don't really know him.

"Ganoon ako talaga, hindi lang alam ng nakakarami. Kaya nga di ako naniniwala na kapag sinasabi nilang may isang taong 'lumaki ang ulo.' Walang taong lumalaki ang ulo, 'yun na talaga siya di niyo lang alam. Ang tao kasi iba-iba ang pinanggalingan, iba iba ang pinagdaanan. Kaya 'di mo pwedeng husgahan ang tao lalo't iba ang pinanggalingan niya," he explained.

"Ang hirap kasi sa mundo may nakita ka lang mali nakalimutan mo na ang madaming nakita mong tama, 'yun ang nakakalungkot. Sana nga ang buhay ay parang quiz sa eskwelahan na pagkatapos ng lahat ng quiz na ito ang score ay binabase sa kung ilan ang tama at hindi kung ilan ang mali," he added.

Vice Ganda said he's really blessed to have friends who are always there for him.

"Alam mo ang bait ng Diyos sa akin at naniniwala akong kahit paano ay mabuti siguro akong tao dahil ang bongga ng mga kaibigan ko. May dalawang grupo ako ng mga kaibigan -- 'yung sosyal friends at saka 'yung mga simple friends," the Phenomenal Box Office Star said.

"Sila Anne (Curtis), sila Liz (Uy), sila Georgina (Wilson), sila Raymond (Gutierrez) at ikaw (Kris), kayo 'yung mga friends ko na sosyal, class, nagsama-sama sa isang level. Tapos sila Pooh at Ethel sila ang mga kaibigan ko. Kami pa din kahit nagkaroon ako ng bagong kaibigan. Sila Pooh at Ethel barkada pa din hanggang ngayon," Vice Ganda said.

"Tapos noong birthday ko ay nagsama-sama, nag-click at nagulat ako inabot kami ng madaling araw, walang umuuwi. Kaya sabi ko ang bongga ng mga kaibigan ko kahit dalawang magkabilang mundo," he said.

Derek, Angelica relationship on the rocks?

Is it the end for celebrity couples Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao?

That’s what entertainment editor Ricky Lo was implying in his column at the Philippine Star titled “Headed for splitsville?” which was published on Wednesday.

“When John Lloyd and Angelica came home from Vietnam after shooting some scenes for their new ABS-CBN teleserye, which has no title yet, things didn’t seem the same between them and their respective partners. A rift has suddenly happened between the two pairs and, if not repaired in time, might lead them to splitsville,” Lo wrote.

“Could it be true that while in Vietnam, John Lloyd and Angelica discovered (better late than never!) that they have something in common, that they like the same thing. Did they receive a message in a bottle?” Lo added.

News about the supposed “cool-off” between Ramsay and Panganiban spread on Twitter on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Ramsay sent an intriguing tweet to his girlfriend. “Be strong (Angelica). We all know who you are and that there is no truth to what's being said. I'm here for you if ever you need anything.”

Then on Wednesday he confirmed with an entertainment reporter that he and Panganiban are “working things out” and expressed optimism that the kinks in their relationship will eventually be ironed out.

He also denied that there is something going on between Pangilinan and Cruz.

“Look please don’t make up things OK. Angel is a decent woman,” he told a follower on Twitter.

When the follower asked about a video reportedly of Panganiban and Cruz kissing, Ramsay said this was only a scene from the movie that was shot in Vietnam.

“They had scenes like that. Work is work,” he said.

Panganiban has so far not mentioned anything about the issue on Twitter, although she did post an intriguing comment on Monday: “God will not allow a trial to come into your life unless He has a purpose. He doesn't send the storms, but He uses them.”

Robin to Daniel: Keep your feet on the ground

Action star Robin Padilla reminded his nephew Daniel to always keep his feet on the ground despite the success he’s currently enjoying.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Padilla said he is proud of his nephew because he is able to show his acting skills at such a young age.

“[Natutuwa ako] na sa kanyang murang edad naipapakita niya ang galing niya,” he said.

Padilla said he is also grateful for Daniel’s supporters who appreciate what his nephew does.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga sumusuporta kay Daniel... Lahat ng dasal namin at suporta namin nasa kanya,” he said.

Asked for a piece of advice that he can share with Daniel, Padilla said: “Ang pinakaimportante paalala, ang kasikatan ay hindi inilalagay sa ulo iyan, anak. Sa paa mo lang ilagay para lagi kang nakatingin sa baba.”

Since Daniel joined show business, a lot of people have been saying that he is like the young Robin Padilla.

Many people have noticed how Daniel shares the same mannerisms with his uncle.

Daniel, however, vowed to not just stay in the shadows of his uncle but to also establish a name for himself.

John Lloyd, Bea talk about upcoming movie

Bankable love team John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are set to conquer the silver screen once again two years after their last movie together.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, Cruz said he is looking forward to shooting his reunion movie with Alonzo because both of them have already grown up as actors.

“Sobrang excited ako kung paano magiging batuhan namin ni Bea sa mga eksena kasi iba na si Bea ngayon, iba na rin ako,” said Cruz.

Alonzo, on the other hand, seems surprised that she and Cruz have been an on-screen couple for 10 years already.

“Ten years na pala kami no? I'm so excited [and] at the same time challenged. With John Lloyd, you always need to be on your toes,” she said.

Alonzo added, “It’s always refreshing to work with John Lloyd.”

Meanwhile, both stars hinted on what their new film will be like.

“Kumbaga, ibang-iba ang mga characters namin dito, malalim at medyo sensitive. Masasabi ng ibang tao, kontrobersyal ito,” said Cruz.

“Tinatalakay nito ang infidelity kaya talagang pag-uusapan ito ng mga tao,” Alonzo added.

The movie, titled "The Mistress," will be under the direction of Olivia M. Lamasan.

Aside from their upcoming movie, Cruz and Alonzo are also excited to share to their fans their upcoming television series.

“Nasa planning stage na kami, then in a few weeks, pupunta kami ng Vienna, Austria para i-shoot ‘yung pilot week namin,” said Alonzo.

The two celebrities will also be part of a star-studded movie in celebration of Star Magic’s 20th anniversary.

Kim Jones opens up on boyfriend Echo

Months since their first public appearance as a couple, Australian television host Kim Jones opened up on her relationship with actor Jericho Rosales.

It was only in February when Rosales confirmed he was in a relationship with Jones, but the lifestyle show host said they had become an official couple as early as October last year.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jones recounted how they first met through a mutual friend, revealing that it wasn’t necessarily love at first sight.

“We met in March of last year. We have a mutual friend, and she mentioned to us that we should meet. I didn’t know who he was at the time.

"We met, it was just a nice dinner [with friends]. I don’t know if he had trouble understanding my accent, but we didn’t see each other [until] two months after,” she said.

Jones shared that Rosales eventually won him over through their shared passion for sports and his sense of humor.

“I love sports, so he taught me how to surf, and now I’ve fallen in love with surfing. So we spend a lot of time at the beach. I’m an Aussie, so it’s always relaxing for me [to be] at the beach.”

“He has a very big heart, a very giving heart. He’s hilarious, he never fails to make me laugh. Super mabait siya,” she added.

Showbiz world

At the time, Jones said she didn't know Rosales was a television and film actor, but added that she has managed to adjust well to his popularity because of his fans’ support for their relationship.

“I didn’t know at the time [that he was a popular actor]. When people started asking him for photos, I was like, ‘Who is this guy?’ I like that his fans have been very supportive, they’re always showing a lot of love, a lot of support, so that helps of course, so I have them to thank,” she said.

As she slowly wins over fans of her own, is Jones ready to go showbiz full-time?

“It’s been a popular question, but for now I want to master my craft – hosting, things like that. I’m studying Tagalog, but if any opportunity arises down the track, I would be open for it,” she said.

Currently, Jones is preparing for a special participation in the upcoming concert of Gary Valenciano, “On Higher Ground.”

“It’s a surprise, it’s just one song, [but no] I’m not singing in the concert. I don’t want to say too much, but it’s been fun being a part of, so happy I got to be a part of it. You just have to watch it!”

Sitti happy to perform for Sergio Mendes, PNoy

Bossa nova singer Sitti Navarro recounted the thrill of performing as the front act for the concert of Brazilian jazz legend Sergio Mendes.

Navarro’s stage nerves left her oblivious to the presence of another notable personality at the venue.

The concert, which was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday, was attended by President Benigno Aquino III. Aquino was with his sisters, a number of his Cabinet members, and his rumored girlfriend, television and radio personality Grace Lee.

“I wasn’t aware that the president was here. I didn’t know. Ang alam ko lang nanginginig ako the whole time I was singing because I was fronting for Sir Sergio Mendes,” Navarro told ABS-CBN News moments after the show.

Nevertheless, Navarro said she is happy to have performed for both Mendes and Aquino and hoped that they liked her performance.

“I didn’t know. But wow, sana nagustuhan nila,” she said.

During the concert’s front act, Navarro sung a bossa nova rendition of “Limang Dipang Tao,” among others.

Her latest album is “Sitti (Sessions),” which was released last year.

Sarah gears up for birthday concert, new album

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo is busy preparing for her birthday concert at the Araneta Coliseum on July 7.

ABS-CBN News caught up with Geronimo during the pictorial for the said concert.

“Wala pa pong final na lineup ng guests pero inaayos na po ang lineup ng songs,” she said.

Geronimo, 23, hopes that many people will come and see her perform at the Big Dome once again.

“Sana po abangan niyo ang aking birthday concert. Mag-24 years old na po ako on July 7 at the Araneta Coliseum,” she said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo said that aside from her concert, she also has a new album coming up.

“Tonight po nag-pictorial kami para sa album ko rin, sa next album na gagawin ko to be released soon,” she said.

Eviction looms for 4 teens on 'PBB'

Four teen housemates are at the viewing public's mercy as they face possible eviction – the first in this edition – from the Big Brother house.

Two weeks since opening his doors for "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4," Kuya is set to evict one among Claire, Kit, Mariz and Vince on Saturday following the edition's first nomination night.

Claire, who hails from Makati, was nominated by her housemates for supposedly being over-emotional and attention-seeking.

Another female housemate, Mariz, was nominated because of being distant from her fellow housemates.

Vince, who allegedly doesn’t help with household chores, is also facing possible eviction, as well as Kit, who received the most number of votes, for being insensitive and offensive with his words towards his housemates.

With the first eviction night looming, the four teen housemates will pack their belongings to prepare for a possible exit on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, fans of Claire, Kit, Mariz and Vince can continue voting for them through SMS or online voting.

“Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4” airs weekdays after “Dahil sa Pag-Ibig” on ABS-CBN’s primetime block.

Kristel happy to join Kathryn, Julia on primetime TV

Young actress Kristel Fulgar cannot help but feel honored to be a part of “Dahil Sa Pag-ibig,” one of ABS-CBN’s primetime shows.

Fulgar plays the role of the stepdaughter of veteran actor Christopher de Leon in the series. Although she always gets nervous whenever she has scenes with de Leon, the young actress said this pushes her to do better.

“Kinabahan po ako lalo na po ‘yung sampalan scene namin ni Mr. Christopher de Leon. Kahit po masakit, wala na po akong pakialam noon, basta po magawa ko nang maganda,” she said.

At age nine, Fulgar joined show business through kiddie show “Goin’ Bulilit.” “Mara Clara” stars Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are among her batchmates in the said show.

Fulgar is glad that just like Bernardo and Montes who have their respective shows, she is also part of a series that airs during ABS-CBN’s primetime block.

Bernardo currently stars “Princess and I,” while Montes is the leading lady in “Walang Hanggan.”

“Natutuwa nga po ako ngayon kasi una po ‘Princess and I,’ ‘Walang Hanggan’ tapos sunod ang ‘Dahil sa Pag-ibig.’ Tapos bigla na lang po akong sumulpot so parang naging kasabayan ko na rin sila,” she said.

Although she only plays a supporting role, Fulgar said it delights her when people get carried away by her character, a sign that her acting is effective.

Emmanuelle releases debut album

After trying her luck in acting, Emmanuelle Vera is back to doing what she considers her first love: music.

Vera finally fulfilled her dream with the release of her self-titled album under Universal Records.

“It’s actually medyo mellow. It’s young, carefree and happy. It has seven tracks, six po ay original, at isang cover. This really aims po sa mga teenager pero I think everyone can relate to it, [both the] older generation and the younger ones,” she told ABS-CBNnews.com on Tuesday.

Vera said it took her four years before she was able to release her debut album.

“Marami pong changes ang nangyari sa album. From the time I went inside, they had a look for me – a peg – tapos biglang nag-change. Siguro mga four or five times nag-change ‘yon. Tapos nag-change din po ‘yung mga songs sa album, tapos gumawa kami ng test album, ‘yung mga cover lang po at walang pangalan ko. After that, nag-acting ako, I did two or three shows. So medyo natagalan po talaga siya at school ko is another factor,” the 17-year-old singer said.

Vera is best known for her role in defunct musical series “Idol” with Coco Martin and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo in 2010

After doing “Idol,” she became part of teen show “Shoutout!” Her last TV series was “100 Days to Heaven.”

Although she misses acting, Vera said she will now concentrate on her singing career.

“Well actually there has been a few offers I turned down because of school. Minsan hindi na rin ako makatulog sa dami ng schoolwork pero siguro in the future, maybe I will do a couple of acting projects… Sometimes nami-miss ko ang acting [pero sa ngayon singing muna],” she said.

Included in Vera’s “Emmanuelle” album are songs titled “Dear Diary,” “Tonight,” “Manong Guard” with Yeng Constantino,” “Sandali Lang,” “Sarap Mabuhay,” “God Gave Me You” and “Happy,” which is the album’s carrier single.

Christian Bautista confirms talks with TV5

Following rumors of an impending transfer to another television network, singer Christian Bautista confirmed that TV5 has offered him an opportunity to host an upcoming reality singing contest.

But he was quick to add that nothing has been finalized.

“Wala pa namang final. Nagkaroon lang ng pag-uusap, ng negotiation. I’m still under contract with ABS-CBN until August. After August, tignan po natin,” Bautista said during the press launch of his coffee table book, “First Class.”

“Life goes on, work goes on, but we’ll see if there are opportunities when the contract ends [sa ABS-CBN, TV5 o GMA].”

Bautista said his girlfriend, “The Kitchen Musical” co-star Carla Dunareanu, is also open to working in a new environment.

Dunareanu is currently based in Singapore.

“Carla’s staying here until June, looking for work in any channel. Kung merong work kami na makita for her, then why not? Gusto niya i-try dito sa Philippines,” he said.

“The Kitchen Musical,” a pan-Asian musical series, recently won a Gold World Medal for Best Writing and a Bronze World Medal for Best Performance at the 2012 New York Festival.

“I feel relieved, masaya, kasi na-reward-an kami, ‘yung mga ginawa namin,” Bautista said about their achievement.

Nancy evades questions about Hayden

Former actress Nancy Castiglione remains evasive over rumors that she is the third party behind the breakup of Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Castiglione said she does not want to talk about the issue anymore.

“Let's not go there naman... My life stayed the same, I went to work at 9 to 5 being a broker, I went home being a mother, so nothing really changed. I don’t know with anyone else but I didn’t pay any attention,” she said.

An alleged photo of Castiglione and Kho together at The Fort in Taguig City has gone viral online. The former actress claimed that she never saw the said photo, adding that she only goes to The Fort to meet clients.

“No, I don’t know because I haven't seen the photo, but I don’t remember going to The Fort except with clients for cocktails,” she said.

It would be recalled that Castiglione’s name got dragged into the controversial breakup when Belo tweeted that Kho can now openly date the former actress.

While she is being plagued by controversy, Castiglione said her main priority is to be a good mother to her twins

Zsa Zsa happy over 'national artist' campaign for Dolphy

Singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla is elated people are now rooting for her long-time partner, King of Comedy Dolphy to be named as a National Artist.

In her official Twitter account, Padilla admitted that she has always wanted Dolphy to be given the highest recognition for a Filipino artist.

"@mybabyneo01 thanks. I hope so, too. This has been our family's wish for him, too for many years now. But grateful he is still with us," Padilla tweeted.

Padilla also extended her appreciation to all the people who are campaigning for the veteran comedian to be named National Artist.

"Thank you, friends, for all your wonderful tweets about Dolphy. #DolphyForNationalArtist," she tweeted.

The debate over who deserves to be named National Artist was reignited after a lawmaker filed a bill pushing for superstar Nora Aunor to become a National Artist.

Others soon voiced their opinion that Dolphy and Aunor's rival, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos also deserve the recognition.

In an earlier interview, Santos said Dolphy should be hailed as National Artist, even before her and Aunor are considered for the honor.

For her part, Aunor said she was surprised to learn about the campaign to make her a National Artist. She said it would be an honor for her to be named National Artist.

Venus Raj shares love story

Beauty queen-turned-host Venus Raj finally shared her and Andrei Felix' love story.

In an interview on “Kris TV” on Tuesday, Raj said that her romantic relationship with “Umagang Kay Ganda” co-host Felix started from a good friendship.

"Well, kami talaga nagsimula kaming magkaibigan, barkada kasama ang iba naming co-hosts. As in walang malisya, as in super friends na kapag nakakakita kami ng potential na babae na pwede nilang ligawan.... ako pa mismo ang nagsasabi na 'parang pwede,'" Raj said.

Raj said that after going out together for the morning show's segment, their friendship slowly turned into romance.

"Since magkaibigan kami at most of the time kami ‘yung nasa location, kami ang lumalabas. Kapag example may awarding, kami ang pumupunta para tumanggap ng award. Nagkataon ganoon, parang na-develop na lang siya, hanggang sa namamalayan ko nanliligaw na pala. Hanggang sa dumating sa point na parang nanliligaw na ito. Nagpapadala ng flowers sa bahay, may ganoon na, at nagpapadala ng lechon sa bahay," Raj said.

Raj said that Felix waited for a quite long time to court her since she came from a traumatic relationship.

"Matagal pa po, mahabang mahabang proseso. Well galing ako sa isang relationship na medyo na-trauma rin ako, ayaw ko munang mag-boyfriend muna. Sabi ko talagang I was praying na ayaw kong i-force ang sarili ko na maghanap ng boyfriend or magpa-impress sa kung sinumang lalaki. Kung may ibibigay sa akin si Lord na tao para sa akin, ‘yun na siguro ang magiging boyfriend ko at magiging asawa ko kung magkataon man. Ganoon ako kaseryoso sa isang relationship," Raj said.

As she celebrates her fourth month together with Felix, the beauty queen admitted that she now sees herself spending the rest of her life with her “Umagang Kay Ganda” co-host.

"Yes. First of all, he is God-fearing at dati pa naman ‘yun ang pinagpi-pray ko na I want to be with someone na alam ko ay malapit sa Diyos dahil kasi kung hindi ay hindi magiging maganda ‘yung relationship niyo at siya ang makakasama mo. Super family-oriented siya, nakilala ko na ang family niya at makikita mo kung gaano ka-importante sa kanya ang family niya at gaano siya ka-importante sa family niya," she said.

But Raj was quick to add that she is not yet ready to walk down the aisle anytime soon.
