Boy Abunda dedicates Asian TV Award to Pinoys

Boy Abunda turned emotional on Sunday when he talked about the latest victory of his show, "The Bottomline," in the recently concluded Asian TV Awards.

Speaking on ABS-CBN's "The Buzz," where he is one of the hosts, Abunda said he never thought that "The Bottomline" would win the Best Talk Show for 2011 award.

The show bested top Asian programs including "Talk Asia" of CNN Hong Kong and "The Euthanasia Debate" of New Delhi Television in India.

“Wala. Binibiro nga namin, because just before 'Bottomline' won, siguro mga five awards, lahat CNN ang nananalo. And then there was a band that performed. Sabi namin, kahit sino ang nanalo at natalo tayo, i-boo natin, ha. Biro lamang ho,” he said.

Asked how he reacted when his show was hailed the winner, Abunda said: "Hindi ko alam. I didn't know what happened. Sabi nila, I just ran to the stage and I don't know what happened next."

Abunda dedicated the award to all Filipinos, particularly those who are working hard to achieve their dreams.

"Sa lahat po ng mga batang nanonood ngayon, uulit-ulitin ko po ito. Dreams come true. Whoever you are and if you have a dream, hold on to that dream and work hard. You're gonna make it," he said.

“With humility, I dedicate this trophy to everyone in this country who has a dream. Para po ito sa inyo. This trophy is for the Philippines,” he added.
