Matteo denies rivalry with Xian Lim

Matteo Guidicelli has denied that there is rivalry between him and his “My Binondo Girl” co-star Xian Lim.

“Wala namang kumpetisyon,” he told Push.com.ph.

This comes after Lim’s team-up with actress Kim Chiu became more popular even though Guidicelli’s character was also among the actress’ love interests at the start of the series.

“Sa umpisa pa lang ng ‘Binondo Girl’ I told Xian na, ‘Bro, whoever Kim goes to, let's cherish it. It’s a blessing 'cause you know Kim Chiu is Kim Chiu," Guidicelli said.

"Congratulations bro," he added. "The people like your team-up and I’m very, very proud of you and just keep it up all the time. ...Xian’s a cool dude so you know it’s a blessing na marami talaga silang supporters.”

Guidicelli said he and Lim even became closer through “My Binondo Girl.”

“We’re like brothers, literally brothers. Minsan hate niya ako kasi tinutukso ko siya lagi. It’s like a brother-to-brother thing,” he said.

Aside from “My Binondo Girl,” both actors are also part of the upcoming Star Cinema movie “My Cactus Heart.”

“My Cactus Heart” is Guidicelli’s first lead role in a movie with real-life sweetheart Maja Salvador.

Guidicelli admitted that the project is a big challenge for him but he hopes his fans would support his tandem with Salvador.
