Vic Sotto's film "Enteng ng Ina Mo" is pitted against Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.'s "Panday 2" in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), but the Prince of Comedy insists there is no competition with Revilla.
"Hindi kami magkalaban. Magkasabay lang ang mga pelikula namin," Sotto said in an interview after the press conference for "Enteng ng Ina Mo."
Sotto agreed with Revilla's previous statement that "Enteng" and "Panday" are not competing against each other, since they are both only after the success of the Filipino film industry.
"Ang gusto lang namin ni Senator Bong ay yung maging matagumpay ang MMFF at malampasan niya ang gross last year sa kabuuan. Ito ay para sa ating lahat. Hindi tayo magkakalaban dito, lahat tayo ay magkakampi," he said.
What is important for Sotto is that the MMFF films will be successful and recoup their investments.
"Sa akin personally walang number one or number 2. Ang importante ay kumita ang nakakarami at maibalik ang puhunan na naibigay. Kasi di lang pero ang puhunan diyan pati pawis at dugo pinaghihirapan lahat ng taga-industriya. As a whole magsama-sama tayo," Sotto said.
Revilla and Sotto worked together in "Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote", an entry at last year's MMFF.
In "Enteng ng Ina Mo," Sotto worked with Queen of Comedy Ai Ai delas Alas.
