Luis Manzano hopes to improve acting skills via 'Alta'

Luis Manzano is excited for his role in upcoming ABS-CBN series "Alta," saying that it has been a while since he had an acting project.

"Medyo may similarity siya sa character ko sa 'In My Life' (a 2009 Star Cinema movie), kay Mark, dahil it was basically saying me not living up to the expectations," Manzano said about his role in "Alta."

"[The role] gets me excited again. Iniisip ko nga ulit paano ko ba kukunin ang atake ko sa role na ito?" he told Push.com.ph.

Manzano, who has been doing hosting stints in the past few years, noted that his last acting project was for ABS-CBN series "Dyosa" (2008 to 2009) with Anne Curtis.

"Naninibago [ako]. Kahit sa standby area ang kulit-kulit ko. Kumbaga andun pa rin 'yung [pagiging] host ko," he said.

Manzano said he enjoys hosting, but he also wants to improve his acting skills via "Alta."

"Sabi ko nga, it's still one thing that I have to do, being part of the industry. I want to grow in this industry, hindi lang puro hosting. Kahit paano nga, I'm fortunate enough na ma-recognize sa acting so it makes you yearn for more. Gusto mong iangat ang pag-arte mo," he said.

"The whole project ('Alta') is very exciting, especially 'yung mga makakasama ko. I'm going to take this as one big learning experience once again," he added.

“Alta” will also star Gretchen Barretto, Angelica Panganiban, Diether Ocampo and KC Concepcion.
